Awareness
Raising awareness of substance abuse, counterfeit medications, fentanyl, and emerging drug threats so individuals and families can better recognize risks and protect themselves and those they love.
Mothers for Awareness and Prevention of Drug Abuse (MAPDA) was founded by three mothers who turned personal tragedy into a commitment to prevent other families from experiencing the same loss.
What began with mothers determined to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug abuse has grown into a national nonprofit addressing the changing substance use crisis. As new threats have emerged, including illicit fentanyl and youth vaping, MAPDA’s work has continued to evolve while remaining focused on prevention.
Today, MAPDA works to give families and communities the information, education, and resources needed to recognize risks earlier and help prevent substance use and overdose.
